The food (dining) was great! The steak was awesome! And the welcoming plate of fruit and buiscuit was a great idea.

The tv setup was really bad as it was at at angle and one would have a really bad neck in the morning if one was to watch tv at night time for a long period of time - as I did.

Central location ideal for city stay. Very comfortable and welcoming

            • Older travelers
              7.0

Comfort was poor in respect to room temperature. Forced to sleep with the window open and no sheets/blankets.

            • Older travelers
              7.8

Conveniently situated in the city and comfortable.

Not a complaint but is starting to look a little tired.

            • Group of friends
              8.2

location was the main reason plus it is nice to stay in a upper class hotel

the hotel bar could be open more often

            • Couple
              5.8

The option to "go green" and not have the room serviced was nice. The hotel bar was comfortable and the bartender was great.

We decided to go with the newly decorated room in an attempt to bypass some of the critiques mentioned by other guests. The decor in the recently refurbished 'superior' room was really ugly, the bed wasn't very comfortable, the pillows were awful, and the bathroom was tired and tiny. A staff member also knocked on our door in the morning to check the mini bar even though we had the do no disturb sign out; after waking my husband and realising she'd done so, she said she'd 'just come back later'! What is the point of those signs if no one pays any attention to them? Overall the cost was 4 star and the quality was more like 2 star.

It's proximity tio the venue of the conference (at Inveresk) meant that we could walk to the conference. the big double beds were excellent. Breakfast was wonderful.

No it was fabulous and very good value for money.

The staff were extremely friendly and service provision was excellent. Location is great. Rooms was comfortable and clean

The night I stayed there was a band playing to very late nearby which kept me a wake for sometime but other than that no nothing

            • Group of friends
              8.2

Rooms were clean, roomy and great view of the town.

              Pillows were way too thin.

              location is good

On commenting at checkout that we booked for 3 and we only had 2 towels and 2 chairs supplied, I was told housekeeping sometimes overlooks these things and that's why we're here (at the front desk) 24hrs a day, and had I called? It was a bit too Basil Fawlty for me I'm afraid. It is a bit too late to call when you are in the shower drying yourself with a hand towel.

Staff at reception were very polite and helpful during check-in. Room and location in city was great

              7.8

The Hotel is in such a convenient location - just a short walk to some great restaurants, the beautiful Gorge and the heart of the Launceston shopping district.

The lifts were so slow, and some times didn't move at all - you had to get out and go back in to 'jog' it's memory that it is actually meant to go up to your floor when asked!

            • Family with children
              7.8

Its position was the main feature.

Impersonal. No charm. Reception staff uninterested.

            • Group of friends
              7.4

quite expensive for what the room was. we sweltered through the night as we did not know how to turn the heating off

              5.8

The hotel staff are very professional and helpful

Very noisy, room I was in was way overdue for a facelift, not four star quality. Carpet and lounge were filthy.
